Similar to being in
in a big orphanage
and within that 300 kids,
of that, of that orphanage,
there was about 5 other kids
So there were very few of us.
And on the squadron that I joined,
there wasn't a single
I was the only one that was black.
Not that it made any difference,
it's just that I couldn't
If you put the two institutions
they had so many similarities.
You know, I had a bed to sleep in,
I had three meals a day
I had people above me who
You know, they were -
I'd gone from being
food rationing and so on
and suddenly I end up
there was any
And it was the same
so the similarities
you were left alone.
Nobody cared for you,
nobody gave you a cuddle,
unless you did something wrong,
then they didn't give you a kiss,
So, but that was the same
So those were the
that I just felt totally at home with.
