Transcript

I studied Mechanical Engineering at university.

As it happens, any degree is in some way applicable

to the skills that you can put back into the Air Force.

Some people do languages, which are important in themselves,

some people do engineering, some people do geography,

and in some way, I think the very fact

that you develop an intellectual capacity

by going to university is actually very important.

The subject itself,

although I thought it was going to be very applicable

to my role as a pilot,

in some ways it is.

But equally, that was very technical.

It went into a lot of depth,

that I don't tend to use as a pilot.

We keep things simple in the air.
