Kharkiv Background

Transcript

I was born in the city Kharkiv.

This is on the east of Ukraine,

kilometres to the Russian borders.

And this city is being bombed,

literally almost every minute.

The reputation of this city is just

who like even for some, you know,

They're amazed with their great history

So the history and location,

and yet we are absolutely 100% like

And many people say that the reason,

occupied

traditions,

and they absolutely, you know,

because as we know,

they've been occupied,

for many, many years.

And going deep into the history

The Russia has affected a lot the people

in that area, likewise in the all east

because a lot of people sadly,

still have, many of them,

and maybe as it was shown on the internet,

Russian people or the government,

of the Ukraine like in almost 3 days.

That was their original plans.

They believe that because people,

the Soviet Union times and they speak,

So they believed, I still believe that,

the Russian values as well,

So they,

the Kharkiv like in maybe

But,

just everyday people,

with men from, from the streets,

people who just didn't

They wanted to stay in their home.

On their lands and not

And

the amount of the lands being taken,

people's lives being taken in that war

But the fact that the city still stays

and people, you know, they do not give up,

they get tired, obviously,

Because the war is absolutely—

normal human thing to face with.

But I wish absolutely everyone to see,

had so many students from all over the world.

We had so many private businesses.

We had a lot of factories

delivering to lots of like tanks,

goods for the whole

And now what they're seeing, all of that

destroyed, destroyed.

The huge amount of the Kharkiv territory,

being absolutely, you know, devastated.

It's, we cannot rebuild that for now.

And it doesn't stop.

It's still like,

of people, they were — they died

And that's just all that happens

in the city where I was born, when I

So you can walk in the streets

and there, on the one side of the street

and you realise that, you know,

There are broken windows,

bullets or some, you know,

on the streets, on the building.

But on another side of the street,

you can see the restaurant,

you can see people

So it's really hard, you know,

And it's really strong,

you know, continue to live,
