I as I say,
I was there for quite a long time,
and they called me back
for and had some aptitude tests and so on.
So they then offered me
the trade of telegraphy first,
which I was happy, happy to accept.
Explain to me about Morse code,
and, that was great.
And I was due to join,
But then I got cold feet and I was 19.
You know, it was a bit scary.
So, but then I changed my mind again, so.
And then eventually joined
I certainly wasn't homesick.
I liked it,
I loved the area.
From the moment I joined So telegraphist,
we were kind of the more multi-skilled,
trade
because the telephonists dealt with,
teleprinter operators
but telegraphists did that, plus radio,
So I trained in Morse code
how to service and repair
a field radio, how to put up aerials.
So everything in relation to,
telecommunications
was part of the,
except for in the air, of course.
No not flying.
We were ground trade
